Have you considered that the financial commitment to a pet could exceed several hundred dollars per year?

Are you aware that the adoption of an animal is a commitment for life of the animal? That could be 15-20 years for a cat.

Where did you learn about Homes for Pets/Schertz Humane Society and our animals for adoption?

Do you understand that many Homes for Pets animals, having been abandoned by their previous owners, may come with “baggage” and may need to re-learn how to live in a home environment and to bond with your family and other pets?

Would you be willing to have an in-home visit by a Homes for Pets/Schertz Humane Society representative?

I hereby affirm that I have answered the above questions truthfully and to the best of my knowledge. I give my permission for Homes for Pets/Schertz Humane Society to contact the landlord, and veterinarian I have provided for references, and I give my permission for the release of any information they deem relevant to the adoption of an animal from the Homes for Pets/Schertz Humane Society.

In the event that I am no longer able to care for this animal, I agree to contact Homes for Pets/SHS in the first instance. However, I understand that Homes for Pets/Schertz Humane Society cannot guarantee immediate placement.

By checking this box, I have agreed to share my information with Homes for Pets and have read the above statement.

Cats require a lot of your time, love and attention. The cost of caring for a cat includes food, vaccinations, deworming, testing, boarding, and veterinary care during emergencies. Please consider these requirements when adopting a cat and be sure you are willing to commit to a new family member who could be with you for the next 15-20 years. Thank you for your time!
