Roadie: (noun) An individual who travels with a band and assists with setup and organization whose main goal is to ensure the show runs smoothly.
First off, I don’t have any strong musical preferences. My tail will keep time to whatever’s playing! And I’ll never change the station in the middle of your favorite song because that’s just rude.
For a while there, my life was like a sad country song. Somehow I ended up alone on the street during one of the coldest weeks in recent history. Thankfully, a lady took pity on me and brought me in out of the cold. I don’t usually brag, but I suspect my dashing good looks and charming personality sucked her in. Plus, it didn’t hurt that I know how to be a good houseguest.
Turns out, people are easily impressed. I mean, they’re all gushing about how smart I am just because I’m housetrained, crate trained, not destructive, love other dogs and kids, and I’ll sit and lie down on command. Cattle Dogs are known for their smarts, so little do they know, I’m capable of way more than what I’m currently letting on! I mean, the above qualities are good, but just wait till you start to train me and I’ll give you something to be impressed about. Plus, everyone knows it’s important to keep learning new things in life. Who knows, you might even learn a thing or two from me! For example, I can teach you how to be cool. It just seems to come naturally to me! Everyone who meets me says so anyway. Thanks, y’all! Back atcha!
Now, I could see how you might be thinking I sound like the perfect dog right about now, but because dogs are incapable of lying, I’m going to confess something I hope won’t be a deal breaker. There was one time when I was first rescued that they left me outside overnight and that’s when they learned two things about me:
1) I’d rather be inside with you – No brainer!
2) I have no problem scaling a 6’ fence
My current foster spends lots of time with me, plus they have other dogs to keep me company, so they’ve never seen any signs of me wanting to escape. I’m a fast learner, after all. I know a good thing when it’s right in front of me. But they’re not my forever home, I’m just crashing here till my own special person comes along! They’ve gotten to know me pretty well and they think I’d do great with another playful dog to hang out with. Or if you want me to be your only dog, that’s ok as long as you have time to spend with me.
So there it is. The good, the bad, and, well there is no ugly here! What do you say? If you make me your Roadie, I’ll worship you like a rock star and pretty soon you’ll be my biggest fan in return.
