Ferris and his mom, Mesquite, were found as strays living in a thicket of trees down the road from a cemetery. Mesquite found herself caught in a dog trap that had been set for a different stray – she just couldn’t resist the chicken Alfredo used to bait it! When our volunteer put a leash on Mesquite, Mesquite led her to the den where Ferris was waiting! He was her only surviving puppy, after what looked like a valiant attempt by mom to get enough food for all of them. She had even dragged in scraps of whatever she could find to try feeding everyone. Ferris is a happy puppy, and is loving the all-you-can-eat puppy food that comes with being rescued. Mesquite has continued to be a stand-out mom, playing and cuddled with her little boy. Ferris is around 7-8 weeks old and is available for adoption! He’s looking forward to meeting his forever family.
Ferris will be neutered and fully vetted week commencing 2/27/17 he will be ready for that forever home just after that.
